March is coming to an end, but our fight continues

Posted by Joe Arite on March 27th, 2008

As this year’s Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end we reflect on how productive C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition and our Advocates from around the country have been.

Our Second Annual Call on Congress was a wonderful success this year! Thirty five Advocates from the four corners of the country came together in Washington, DC to take their fight to Capitol Hill. Advocates were professionally trained and let loose on their individual Members, where they urged them to support our Cover your Butt legislation.

On March 19th we watched as Advocates Butted-In to Congress, and nearly 2000 calls were placed to 340 Congressional offices. Only three words had to be uttered…”Cover My Butt!”

Now, as April quickly approaches the war against this terrible disease wages on. We must take the high we felt during this past month and continue throughout the year. C3 would like to thank all of our Advocates and with your support we will continue to fight.

Take Action Today!

Thousands of Advocates Urge Congress to Pass Colorectal Cancer Legislation

Posted by Michael Sola on March 26th, 2008

On Wednesday, March 19th, C3 sponsored the Congressional Butt-In, a one-day phone blitz to Capitol Hill. We asked advocates around the country to call a toll-free number and get connected to their Members of Congress with the message that colorectal cancer legislation must be passed. C3 advocates made almost 2,000 phone calls to 340 Congressional offices.

Thanks to all of our advocates who joined us for the Congressional Butt-In. Your advocacy will make a big difference in the fight against colorectal cancer.

GI Nurses and Associates Day is March 26, 2008

image Gastroenterology nurses and associates are being honored on March 26th during GI Nurses and Associates Day.

These are the wonderful folks who hold our hands while we wait to doze off during our colonoscopies.  Who ask, "Any trouble with the prep?"  Who hand us the little flowered gown that opens in the back.

Their skill and experience makes a scary procedure easier and much safer, and we appreciate it.

Thanks!
