Emily Piekut joined Fight Colorectal Cancer in 2013 and serves as the advocacy manager. In this role, she activates survivors, caregivers and loved ones who have been touched by colorectal cancer to engage with their members of Congress and change policy. In addition to managing Fight CRC’s advocacy programs, Emily works closely with the Grassroots Action Committee (GAC), oversees the Facebook group for advocates and manages Call-on Congress and the award-winning Blue Star States campaign.
Emily holds a communications degree from the College of Charleston and the College of Charleston Honors College where she focused on political communication. She is passionate about helping advocates find empowerment in their personal stories and using that power to change policy.
Emily currently resides in New Bern, NC with her husband.
