Director of Government Affairs
Margaret began her career in Washington, D.C. as a Legislative Assistant working for U.S. Senator William Armstrong from Colorado. She has worked for the House Judiciary Committee as a staff counsel for the Committee and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and as a Legal Counsel for the Office of Congressional Affairs. She worked closely with federal agencies such as the FBI, Immigration Service, intelligence agencies and the White House. She advocated for the Justice Department and Administration’s policy positions and provided assistance to both the House and Senate.
For more than 16 years, Margaret worked as an Assistant Director in Congressional Affairs office for the American Medical Association (AMA). She collaborated with members in both the House and the Senate with health committees and with medical specialties on health legislation and issues. She also worked with state and local medical associations on legislation and grassroots activities. In addition, she worked with federal regulatory agencies on many issues important to the AMA.
Margaret lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, daughter and son. She is a member of the California Bar Association and Washington, D.C. Bar Association and joined Fight CRC in March of 2014.
