Fight CRC has launched two new free patient resources: Your Guide in the Fight (version 3) and Side Effects Mini Magazine. Both resources are available for download from the Resource Library; hard copies are available upon request. GITF_NEW_262x300Your Guide in the Fight, Fight CRC's guidebook for patients facing stage III and stage IV colorectal cancer, has undergone a massive redesign and rewrite to get patients the latest news and updates impacting them in an easy-to-read format. The resource has expanded the content from prior versions of the Guide and added sections to cover:
  • newly approved treatment options for late-stage patients
  • genetic syndromes
  • biomarkers and tumor testing
  • palliative care and side effects management
  • survivorship and caregiver support
  • tumor banking and end-of-life care
  • updated glossary of terms and patient resources
Patients and caregivers gave us their feedback. To make sure we met their needs, the book now consists of three separate parts:
  • Part 1 - Diagnosis through Treatment
  • Part 2 - Treatment Side Effects and Survivorship
  • Part 3 - Supportive Care, Practical Issues and Resources
All content in Your Guide in the Fight was medically reviewed and written and edited by Fight CRC. The free resources are supported by the following sponsors: BTG, Genentech, Lilly Oncology, Merck Oncology, Sanofi, Shire and Taiho Oncology. To download a copy of Your Guide in the Fight or request hard copies, visit FightCRC.org/Guide. FightCRC_MM-SideEffects-coverThe Side Effects Mini Magazine is a publication that covers the most common physical side effects CRC patients experience. The publication explains what is common to face after surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. It also offers practical tips for patients on how to manage side effects such as products to buy, foods to eat and routines to follow. Fight Colorectal Cancer surveyed and spoke to patients and caregivers across the country. Their active involvement helped to shape the Side Effects Mini Magazine, keeping it focused on the practical challenges patients face after treatment. The Side Effects Mini Magazine is sponsored by BTG and Genentech. Being able to provide free patient resources reflects Fight Colorectal Cancer's ongoing commitment to education, serving thousands who need it as they make critical treatment decisions.
