Dan-Dixon OMSHow do YOU define One Million Strong? We, meaning researchers, advocates, and survivors, all have a common goal in getting behind a cure for colorectal cancer. We each have our own strengths and talents that can be best utilized to reach the goal. Putting us together defines One Million Strong. Where have you drawn strength? As a cancer researcher, I look to other scientists driven to make new discoveries. It is about continually trying to expand our current knowledge through open dialogue and good research and encouraging each other in the community to push towards our goals. As an educator, I look to the advocates with their passion and diligence in getting the word out. Advocates give a story and a purpose to what I do. Who is your champion? I have many...Firstly, my wife and kids. Secondly, the researchers who trained me and made me the scientist I am today. Lastly, the students and fellows whom I have had an opportunity to pass my knowledge on to. What is one piece of advice you would like to share with others? Educate yourself about cancer and pass that information on. We each have the power to make a difference. I AM a cancer researcher trying to do my part in finding a cure. I AM a husband and a father. I AM STRONG! Want to share your story? Submit yours today!
