Please join C3, Olympus, and leaders from Congress, the Administration, the gastroenterology and colorectal cancer (CRC) communities, and other health experts to discuss current trends in screening and prevention. The Forum will focus on the need to maintain CRC screening and prevention as a national policy priority, as we work to defeat this beatable disease.
Agenda:
9:00 a.m. – Welcome and Introductions
9:15 a.m. – Keynote Remarks
9:35 a.m. – Panel 1 (Building Momentum: Challenges and Opportunities in CRC Prevention and Screening)
- Provide an overview of where the nation is regarding CRC screening
- Discuss the role of insurance coverage in screening rates and the differences between states with/without mandates
- Highlight current clinical standards and practices, what are the parameters for screening and what are physicians seeing on a daily basis
10:15 a.m – Panel 2 (From Treatable to Beatable: Making CRC Prevention and Screening a Priority)
- Highlight successful models, such as the CDC program
- Discuss lack of screening access for underserved populations and potential solutions
- Examine current and projected CRC screening capacity, including the gastroenterology shortage projected by the Olympus/Lewin report
- Discuss how adherence to guidelines, improving patient follow through are critical for doctors
- Explore policy solutions, including HR 1189, which will allocate additional funds to CDC for screening programs for underserved communities
10:55 a.m. – Closing Remarks
