Cook-off For a Cause

After losing her husband, Steve, in 2010 to colorectal cancer, Susan Mayberry wanted to do something in his honor that combined his passion for family, friends and a good BBQ, all while supporting the fight against colorectal cancer. Susan formed the Mayberry Memorial Cook-offs and began hosting BBQ cook-offs and donating proceeds to fund the fight against colorectal cancer. With the generosity of two couples, Chad and Sheila Schrack and Eric and Rose Hausmann, funds from their hometown fundraisers were added to the scholarship program. Because of these efforts, in 2014 Fight Colorectal Cancer was able to double our scholarship recipients, and 10 new warriors joined us on the Hill.  “I was accompanied

For the Love of Coffee… and Mom

Felicia Parker’s love for coffee started at a young age, too young to know that her love for coffee would one day help make a difference. She soon realized the opportunity in coffee – the #2 trading commodity on Wall Street and one of the most consumed beverages on the market. In 2012, she started her coffee company, an elite coffee company specializing in single-cup coffee and quality products. When her business established a
