New researchers bring new ideas and energy to cancer research. However, as the pot of federal funding for research continues to decrease, new researchers face funding barriers which prevent them from moving their exciting ideas into research realities.
The Lisa Fund was named after Lisa Dubow, a founder of Fight Colorectal Cancer. Lisa credited cutting edge research and clinical trials with helping her survive her diagnosis for nine years before her death in July of 2007.
This Fund provides grants to support researchers dedicated to developing treatments for patients with late stage colorectal cancer. 100% of every donation to the Lisa Fund goes directly to the research grant. Fight CRC works in conjunction with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) to administer the grant. To date, Fight CRC has awarded $150,000 in research grants – an amount we plan to double by 2013.
