July 21 – Pitch for Prevention at the TWINS game

pitch-for-prevention-cancer-awarenessWe’re excited to be one of the groups hosting the Pitch for Prevention campaign during the Minnesota Twins series July 21-23. We’re linking arms with Mayo Clinic and Fans for the Cure to bring awareness to “below the belt” cancers.

LIVE from Target Field…

Immediately before the game, some of our advocates and experts from Mayo Clinic will host an educational event about colorectal cancer. Craig Campbell, our national spokesman, will be there to perform.

You can watch LIVE from the press room at Target Field by visiting PitchforPrevention.com. The event will begin at 4:30pm CT. If you can’t watch the live-stream, the presentation will be archived on the website immediately following.

Fight Colorectal Cancer will also have an info table at Target Field before the game – complete with an inflatable colon to walk through!

Survivor Throws the First Pitch…

To kick off our evening at the Twins game, major Twins fan, colorectal cancer survivor and advocate Eric Powell will be throwing out the first pitch. Read why Eric is SO EXCITED to do this & what the opportunity means to him on his blog post.

March on the Field…

During the 7:10 p.m. TWINS game on Mon., July 21, a handful of colorectal cancer survivors will be marching on the field with other prostate cancer survivors as part of the evening’s awareness events. During the 7th inning stretch, Craig Campbell will perform a special song and awareness PSAs for both colorectal and prostate cancer will play on the Jumbotron.

A group of advocates from Fight Colorectal Cancer and the Colon Cancer Coalition will all be sitting together in the Grandstand area (right center field).  Look for them in BLUE! We’re excited to raise awareness about the #1 and #3 occurring cancers in men in the U.S.

Be Social…

Even if you can’t make the event in Minnesota – help do your part and spread awareness! Share the site PitchforPrevention.com to raise awareness & follow the hashtag #pitch4prevention to see the latest photos and updates.

July 22-23 – One Million Strong at Target Field

We’ll be at Target Field during the entire TWINS series against the Cleveland Indians. Visit our info table July 21, 22 & 23 to get info about preventing colorectal cancer from Mayo Clinic experts and meet advocates from Fight CRC!

Come say “hello” and show us your best ‘strong arm’ pose as we raise awareness together!

Thank you again to our sponsors!
