The Never Ending Saga

The next chapter of the Democratic primary played out last night in North Carolina and Indiana. Senator Barack Obama defeated Senator Hilary Clinton in North Carolina while the former First Lady beat Obama by a small margin in the Hoosier State.
Clinton needed to win in Indiana by a much larger number in hopes of closing the gap in North Carolina. Instead, Obama won North Carolina by 14 percent.
It will be very hard for Senator Clinton, who is behind in pledged delegates, total delegates, states won, and total votes, to bounce back. The fun continues.
And just think…we still have a general election to go through!

Not taking sides….however, whoever becomes the next President really needs to look at our current budget allocations re cancer research and to cancer research facilities and rethink priorities.
I attended a recent cancer education symposium in New Jersey and one of the doctors opened with, “One in three people will get cancer.” People naturally stared at each other wondering who would be next. “I’m cool; did that,” I muttered to a woman who kept staring at me.
However, centered in my mind at the moment was what Joe was referring to in his post above. What will these candidates do for cancer research and for us, those who have experienced this diagnosis and work hard to live and heal after it.

I should have added on the prior post, what will I (avoiding editorial we) do to make sure that the candidates hear my voice? I will continue; much is happening in my own district and it is my responsibility to connect, knowing the candidates’ stance on cancer research, prevention, and education.
My last thought, for the moment, how to reach the superdelegates? I am going to try to connect with ones in my district/State, if I can find out who they are.
