Longtime friend of C3, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), is back at home in Massachusetts after recently undergoing aggressive surgery for a brain tumor. Because his tumor was operable, the 76-year-old is a candidate for the most promising treatments.

The Massachusetts Senator was originally rushed to the hospital following a seizure in early June, where after undergoing tests, he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Following his surgery he is set to begin targeted radiation and chemo therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Senator Kennedy has been a longtime advocate in the fight against cancer. He is currently the lead sponsor of the Senate companion bill to The Colorectal Cancer Prevention, Early Detection, and Treatment Act (HR 1738), which is expected to be introduced soon.
