		<description>I received an email from One Voice Against Cancer which said Senate Democrats introduced a $100.3 billion econo0mic stimulus package which includes $1 billion for NIH, a cut of $200 million from the $1.2 billion in the original.

A cut, yes, but still a significant demonstration of support for NIH and the need to get funding for NIH-supported research back on track.

The OVAC email ended by saying:
&lt;blockquote&gt;
&quot;The Senate economic package is foucsed on job creation. NIH funding is now recognized as playing an important role in maintaining a stable workforce in communities across the neation.
