Cross the Bridge to End Colorectal Cancer

Big Dam LogoThe Colon Club says that Colorectal Cancer is a Big Dam Problem. They are inviting people to join the models from the 2009 Colondar on September 6th to cross the Big Dam Bridge between Little Rock and and North Little Rock to raise awareness of colorectal cancer in Arkansas.

The Colondar features young colon or rectal cancer survivors who show off their scars for the photographer.

  • WHO: Anyone who has been touched by colorectal cancer
  • WHAT: Colorectal Cancer: It’s A Big Dam Problem!
  • WHERE: Big Dam Bridge (starting on Little Rock side)
  • WHEN: Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 9:00am
  • WHY:To raise awareness about colorectal cancer in Arkansas

Registered GI Gallopers, who pay the registration fee of $30, will receive a 2009 Colondar, a t-shirt that commemorates their Big Dam Walk, and a gift bag.

Colorectal cancer survivors can walk for free and will also get a Colondar, t-shirt, and gift bag.

Want to walk “virtually”?  You can also receive a shirt and Colondar by registering as Prevention Pretender.

The Colon Club and its founders are dedicated to what they call “crazy projects” to increase awareness of colorectal cancer, particularly among young people.

    Hi Tommy,

I don’t think we got your email because you aren’t on my list as of last night, so I’m glad you posted! Email your name and t-shirt size to info@bigdamproblem.com and make sure you say that you are a survivor. Terri Valentine, our walk coordinator, should get back to you within a day or less.

Are you here in Arkansas? We look forward to seeing you next week – it’s going to be fun!!

Hannah as of yet no one has gotten back with me. I am a colon cancer survivor and presently undergoing post surgery chemo treatment.A lady named Karen was supposed to get back with me on a financial assistance issue but until yet i have heard from no one. I do plan to walk at the bigdambridge on saturday the 6th and hope someone received my registration. If someone could let me know about the registration it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

    Hello Tommy,

Thank you for taking the time to write in the C3 Answer Line. I received your email, and am researching some possible solutions for you. I will be in touch shortly.

Lastly, just to clarify, there are two separate organizations you have been communicating with. One is us, C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition, and the other is the Colon Club. It is the Colon Club that is running the up coming walk. You can contact Hannah Vogler directly for details on that.

Thank you again, and I will be in touch shortly.

    Sincerely,

    Kimn
