Honor a Special Oncology Nurse

Posted by Kate Murphy on February 8th, 2011

Oncology nursesHas she held your hand when you were scared, encouraged you when chemo seemed overwhelming?  Did he help you find a way to deal with nausea or bring a blanket when you were cold?

Is there a special oncology nurse in your life, an extraordinary person who helped you heal?

Write about them!

Your essay about an oncology nurse can win a trip to Boston for both of you and your guests during the Oncology Nursing Society’s 36th Annual Congress, on April 28th, 2011.

CURE Magazine, with the support of Amgen, will select three very special oncology nurses as finalists for the Extraordinary Healer Award for Oncology Nursing.  Finalists will be chosen from essays written by patients, survivors, caregivers, or peers.

Finalists, the people who nominated them, and their guests will be flown to Boston where they will have two nights in a hotel and attend a special reception where the winner will be announced.

Deadline for submitting an essay is March 21, 2011.    You can submit your essay online before then.  Be sure to read the rules, including how to mail an entry to the contest.
