Diane Rehm Show to Discuss High Cost of Cancer Drugs

Two members of the C3 Medical Review Network will be featured on the Diane Rehm Show on Thursday, July 17, 2008 discussing the high cost of cancer care.  They are scheduled for the 11 a.m. segment (Eastern time). John Marshall M.D. is Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.  He is a specialist in gastrointestinal cancer. Neal Merepol M.D. directs the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadephia. They will be joined by Kevin LaMartina, American Cancer Society Patient Navigator at St. Agnes Hospital In Baltimore.

Tony Snow Dies from Colon Cancer

Tony Snow died early Saturday morning from colon cancer.  He was 53. Formerly White House Press Secretary, Snow was diagnosed with colon cancer  in February of 2005.  He had surgery and chemotherapy.  His cancer was in remission until a recurrence in his liver in March, 2007. His mother also died of colon cancer when Snow was a teenager and she was 38.

Group Room Radio to Feature Gastrointestinal Cancers

The Group Room, a national cancer talk radio program, will feature gastrointestinal cancers on its July 13th show.  Following up on the recent American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting in Chicago, Selma Schimmel will interview two leading researchers in colorectal and pancreatic cancer and take telephone questions.
