Monday night, March 8, is Colon Cancer Awareness Night when the Cavaliers take on the San Antonio Spurs.

Fans who attend the game will get a blue t-shirt promoting the March collaboration between the Cavs and the Cleveland Clinic — Score Against Colon Cancer.

Nurses from the Cleveland Clinic will be at the arena with questionnaires to help determine individual risk scores for colorectal cancer.  The risk assessment is also available online.

Cleveland Clinic’s health team point out the following factors that can increase risk for colon or rectal cancer:

• A personal or family history of precancerous colon polyps or colon cancer
• Age 50 or older, Age 45 or older if Black
• Being overweight
• Smoking
• Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s Colitis
