<p>Or are you someone who treats colon and rectal cancer patients in that region?</p>
<p>Both survivors and health care professionals are invited to come together at a one day networking forum at the <a title="Wind River Services" href="http://www.windriverservices.com/" target="_blank">Wind River Cancer Wellness Center</a> on June 30th to identify the critical issues important to people living in Western North Carolina and share local resources for survivors.  The event, including lunch, is free, but registration is required.<span id="more-8755"></span></p>

<p>Colorectal cancer survivors can walk for free and will also get a Colondar, t-shirt, and gift bag.</p>
<p>Want to walk &#8220;virtually&#8221;?  You can also receive a shirt and Colondar by registering as <a title="Colon Club: virtual walker registration" href="http://www.colonclub.com/listings/prod1037_details.html" target="_blank">Prevention Pretender.</a></p>
<p>The <a title="Colon Club: about" href="http://www.colonclub.com/aboutus.html" target="_blank">Colon Club and its founders</a> are dedicated to what they call &#8220;crazy projects&#8221; to increase awareness of colorectal cancer, particularly among young people.</p>

<p>Sievers, who has metastatic colorectal cancer, writes a regular web log for NPR &#8212; <a title="NPR: My Cancer by Leroy Sievers" href="http://fightcolorectalcancer.org/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&amp;post=1590&amp;message=4" target="_blank"><em>My Cancer</em>.</a> The blog has built a strong community of supportive commentors, who read and respond to Sievers  daily.</p>
<p>Edwards and Sievers will be interviewed remotely.  However, Talk of the Nation will be broadcast for a live audience from the <a title="Newseum home page" href="http://www.newseum.org/" target="_blank">Newseum </a>in Washington.</p>
