HELP US REACH THE NATIONAL SCREENING GOAL OF 80% OF AMERICANS 50 & OLDER SCREENED BY 2018! On July 16, the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network and Fight Colorectal Cancer are co-hosting a stakeholder meeting and lobby day to push forward with this goal. This is the first opportunity for key colorectal cancer organizations and supporters to join together and bring their staff, volunteers and members to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congress to advocate for federal policies that will help us achieve our goal of 80% by 2018. Today Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. stood before his colleagues and encouraged all of us in the colorectal cancer community. With his blue star pin fastened on his lapel, he honored the memory of his father, the late congressman, who passed away from colorectal cancer exactly two years ago today. Rep. Payne, Jr. thanked the President for declaring March 2014 as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. He thanked his colleagues for co-signing his letter to President Obama asking for the proclamation.
