Eric became involved with Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) as an advocate after his late wife Rose Hausman. Rose was healthy, with no family history of the disease when in 2005, at age 42 she was diagnosed with stage III and later stage IV colon cancer.
She fought an incredible battle for almost 12 years and passed away in 2016. Together, Eric and Rose held many fundraising events for Fight CRC, contributing tens of thousands of dollars to research efforts, as well as the Call-on Congress advocate scholarship fund.
Eric served in the U.S. Navy and has been a career firefighter for over 25 years. He was the Executive Delegate and now the President of his local firefighters’ union. Both Eric and his wife served on and chaired Fight CRC’s Grassroots Action Committee.
Eric resides in New Jersey and has three children. Eric and his adult children continue to raise money, awareness, and to fight to find a cure for this dreadful disease.
