Sharyn Worrall, MPH, RYT-500, E-RYT 200 Public Health Consulting and Yoga Instruction I have always been drawn to the health and wellness space. After I received a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from San Diego State University, I became a massage therapist and spent years working with chiropractors in San Diego, CA. I began teaching yoga in 2010 after being trained in hatha and vinyasa styles of yoga. What I noticed was that both of these things, massage and yoga, were not accessible to everyone who could benefit. They were expensive luxuries. That’s when I woke up to health disparities and health equity – the concepts which drove me to get a degree in public health. I received a Master’s of Public Health from the University of Colorado School of Public Health. With a dedication to improving health equity, I have spent more than five years working in the non-profit sector, and I continue to work as a consultant, freelance writer and editor, and health educator. In addition to the public health work, I teach community and private yoga classes. I am trained in teaching yoga to cancer patients and survivors (Y4C) and am always honored to work with individuals going through a cancer experience. In 2012 I became registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level, and regularly participate in trainings to become a more informed instructor. When not working, I can be found out on a jog, on a nature trail, in the yard trying to keep my vegetable garden alive, or somewhere fun eating snacks. Social Media Instagram: @sharyn_worrall
