Junior Advocates

Junior Advocates serve as a vital bridge to fulfilling the mission of fighting colorectal cancer. By empowering children
affected by this disease to become advocates and change policy, we are nurturing a future generation of leaders who will

Junior Advocate Impact

Connection-Building:

  • The Junior Advocate program creates a safe space for children aged 7-17 to connect with peers facing similar experiences. Through activities like writing letters to legislators or brainstorming advocacy ideas, participants form lasting friendships, deepen understanding, and build their community.

Advocacy and Leadership:

  • Juniors gain confidence and a passion for advocating for colorectal cancer policy changes that impact families. They find their voice, becoming leaders in colorectal cancer advocacy.

Turning Pain into Purpose:

  • Through advocacy, junior advocates become resilient and understand the ability to make an impact on policy and those affected by colorectal cancer.

How to Get Involved

The Junior Advocate program empowers children impacted by colorectal cancer to become confident advocates and future leaders in policy change. Young advocates build connections, support each other, and develop their voices to raise awareness year-round. Each March, Junior Advocates come together to Washington, D.C. for Call-on Congress to make their voices heard.

Even if you can’t attend Call-on Congress, Junior Advocates continue to interact and advocate together throughout the year. For Junior Advocates aged 13 and older, there’s a dedicated group inside Community of Champions where you can stay connected, informed, and actively engaged in advocacy, no matter where you are.
