The Catalyst Program
The Catalyst State-by-State Advocacy Program is a competitive grant program created to support colorectal cancer policy change at the state level. Our goal is to accelerate progress toward turning aspirational colorectal cancer screening goals into reality by increasing access and reducing barriers.
We support grassroots activities and coalition-building at the state level that will lead to legislative and policy changes to advance screening. We aim to foster a community of colorectal cancer champions across states to troubleshoot challenges and share best practices.
Applications for the next round of the Catalyst Program will open Summer 2025. Reach out to advocacy@fightcrc.org to learn more.

Catalyst Grantees
Catalyst Success
To date, the Catalyst Program has supported 16 states in their efforts to advance state-level policy to increase access to colorectal cancer screening. This includes the passage of legislation in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia to remove out of pocket costs for patients needing a colonoscopy after an abnormal non-invasive screening test.
Grantees have also gone beyond legislation, such as Louisiana working with health insurers in their state to help increase access to screening, and California building a coalition to get colorectal cancer screening added as a quality measure for Medicaid.
