Climb for a Cure

Climb for a Cure empowers participants to work together to conquer goals and reach new heights, supporting and encouraging each other along the way, for the event and along their cancer journeys.

This event is Fight CRC’s largest fundraiser and is led by members of our community of Relentless Champions of Hope. We fight for a cure by raising money that will directly impact research.

SUPPORT THE CLIMB
Climb for a Cure is Fight CRC’s cornerstone fundraising event. It started in 2016 with a handful of survivors and caregivers climbing a mountain, a metaphor for their fight against colorectal cancer.
Today, it unites hundreds of survivors, caregivers, and loved ones across the country as they get active and raise funds for research.

Climb for a Cure Impact

$1 Million Raised for Research Since 2016

Climb for a Cure marked its eighth year in 2023. Together, we honored loved ones, advocates and caregivers across the nation. Climb for a Cure is an opportunity to heal and fight alongside a community of champions – it is a reminder that no one fights alone.

For the past eight years, our community has supported Climb for a Cure with donations that support research endeavors like the Clinical Trial Finder, the Path to a Cure Report, and research grants. In 2023, we reached our goal of raising $1 million for colorectal cancer research since the Climb began in 2016.

History

Climb for a Cure began in 2016 with Chad Schrack, Brian Threlkeld, and Chris Ganser, three visionaries and longtime advocates, coming together with 19 others to ascend Longs Peak, a 14,000-foot-high mountain in Colorado. They saw their Climb as a way to inspire those facing the figurative mountain of cancer.

Climb for a Cure funds vital research grants, programs, and educational resources. To date, more than $800,000 has been raised by Climb for a Cure, and every dollar counts. Help us raise $200,000 this year to push us over the $1 million mark!

Kari Hagenow

“Climb for a Cure to me is a celebration of survivors, a rally cry to action to help those currently battling colon cancer, and hope for a future.”

Ben St. Pierre

“Climb for a Cure represents the journey colon cancer brings patients and caregivers on. The struggles and challenges that are faced can be overbearing and tug at our inner strength. This opportunity allows us to Climb for those who have gone through colorectal cancer.”

Tom Vibert

“A clinical trial saved my life and gave me the chance I was looking for. I participate in Climb for a Cure to honor those who we have lost and to support cancer research so the community of cancer fighters may get their chance as well.”
