1. 14th Annual Call-on Congress in Washington, D.C.

Every year, Fight CRC brings over 150 colorectal cancer (CRC) survivors, caregivers, and other CRC advocates to Washington, D.C. to hear the latest on research and policy issues about CRC. On the final day, Fight CRC advocates board buses to Capitol Hill with their state delegations to meet with their Members of Congress to talk about their very personal (and painful) colorectal cancer experience, to encourage their legislators to support policies that support survivors and their families.

I will be attending my first Fight CRC Call-on-Congress this March. I want to share my story and let my legislators know how important early detection can be in saving lives.

- Dawn, Stage III Survivor

Can’t make it to Call-on Congress? You can still get involved! Join our Live Stream Facebook event and watch from wherever you are. Be sure to also register as an advocate so we can alert you to contact your Members of Congress on Hill Day to make the same policy asks as advocates hitting the Hill in person.

2. A NEW and improved FightCRC.org and an online experience focused on survivors

Just in time for March, we’ve launched a new website (with our amazing, relentless NEW brand) so that we can make sure that survivors and their families can get the information they need after a diagnosis that helps them make the best decisions for themselves and their family.

3. Updated Screening Resources

I love and use Fight CRC’s patient education resources. The mini-magazines are great. I learned about biomarkers and what type of tumor I had. It was very informative and simple to understand and comprehend.

4. Wow, that’s Fight CRC in New York’s Times Square!

Thanks to a generous partnership with NASDAQ, Fight CRC appears in the middle of bustling Times Square every March to kick off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and this year is no different!

Fight CRC’s 2020 Ambassadors appeared at the NASDAQ Bell Ringing on Wednesday, February 26, at 9:00 EST live from the Cologuard Classic in Tucson, Arizona!

5. We’ll be flexing lots of #StrongArmSelfie(s) on social media to let all colorectal cancer survivors and their caregivers that we’re here for them.

A #StrongArmSelfie is an easy and fun way to show your support in the fight against colorectal cancer. All you need is a smartphone & social media accounts (bicep muscles optional).

Take a “selfie” while flexing your best “strong arm” pose. Then, post it online to show your support and encourage colorectal cancer screening. Each post, retweet or share of a #StrongArmSelfie sends $1 to Fight CRC (Up to $30,000 in 2020)!

6. New Ambassador Stories

Every March, Fight CRC recruits and trains Ambassadors to share their CRC experience to encourage others to be aware of the symptoms of colorectal cancer and talk to their doctor about when to start screening.

Follow our Facebook page during March to learn more about this year’s ambassadors.

7. New Gear

Fight CRC has some awesome new swag! If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure you do well before March Awareness so you can impress all of your family and friends and remind them to get screened!

8. Resource Champions

Fight CRC Resource Champions are volunteers who distribute patient education resources into their communities four times a year nationwide. It’s an easy, high-impact way you can help survivors and their families in your community because as we know, information is power! To-date we have 700 Resource Champions. Our goal is to add 300 additional Resource Champions this March. Can you help out by getting us to 1,000 Resource Champions?

9. 80 in Every Community

The National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT), Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC), the American Cancer Society (ACS), Mayo Clinic, and Exact Sciences are once again joining forces during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month to reach an 80% colorectal cancer screening rate nationwide. You can join the effort by registering to watch the Awareness webcast!
