Nicholas, M.D., appeared on CBS’ national daytime show, The Doctors, Friday, May 14. Cologuard®, an at-home colorectal cancer (CRC) screening test, sponsored a segment featuring Nicholas. Nicholas shared her story and talked about the importance of CRC screening. I am here today to raise awareness about colorectal cancer screenings. Colorectal cancer is considered preventable and when caught in early stages is treatable. She became an advocate alongside her husband, John MacLeod, who was a stage IV patient as well as a Fight CRC Board Member and Ambassador. MacLeod and Nicholas used Fight CRC’s Trial Finder to find treatment options and attributed it to extending his life. After MacLeod’s passing in 2019, Nicholas took his board seat and in 2020, she became the Board Chair. Today, she helps guide Fight CRC’s mission by sharing her story and advocating for others to get screened.
