Cancer and laughter are two things that don't usually seem to go together. The latest Fight CRC podcast gives those facing the disease a go-ahead to laugh. Survivor and comedian Brenda Elsagher is featured in the episode where she talks openly about her story, career and how humor helped her cope.

"Try to laugh every day...humor can physiologically change you, can help you. If you can’t laugh, turn on some music…You can’t do it once a week, you gotta do it for 15 minutes (a day).”

Laughter is not only a stress reducer, but some studies suggest it can reduce pain by increasing endorphins. Humor is one way survivors may cope with the disease - As the podcast "Don't Tell Me the F*$% How to Feel" with Jana Bolduan Lomax, PsyD, explained, there is not one way to deal with a diagnosis.

The podcast may be accessed via computer, laptop or mobile devices.

The Taboo-ty podcast series may also be subscribed to via Apple Podcasts. View all Fight CRC resources.
