Lisa Marie McLaughlin OMSHow do YOU define One Million Strong? One Million Strong means that whether you are newly diagnosed or a decade-long survivor, there is a network of individuals who have walked this journey and are willing to support you along your personal path. Where have you drawn strength? My family and my faith have been my strength. If I ever need motivation, I look at my 3 little children who are counting on me to be fully present with them despite this disease. I also have an amazing network of friends near and far who support me physically and spiritually. Who is your champion? Kate Murphy from the ACOR COLON list, Jennifer Fish Weir, Gloria Borges. What is one piece of advice you would like to share with others? Don't limit yourself to the first set of treatment options offered. Find your own best path. Find an oncologist who really understands the side effects of your treatment and actively assists you in managing them to maximize your quality of life. I AM a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a survivor. I AM a four year survivor of Stage IV Colon Cancer who was diagnosed at age 36 with no family history. I AM STRONG!
