The campaign website educates advocates on how to verify or register to vote, request a mail-in ballot and tools for getting to know their candidates. The site also offers state-by-state voter registration deadlines, including dates for when mail-in ballots must be requested and submitted. Advocates are encouraged to sign the pledge stating they will vote in the 2022 midterm elections. Voting is the foundation of advocacy. Elected officials make decisions about access to health care and funding toward medical research. “Flex Your Vote” gives CRC advocates the tools they need to be engaged, whether by taking the first step to register to vote or understanding who is on the ballot and the issues at stake. “As a nonpartisan organization, Fight CRC does not tell advocates who to vote for, but rather, we give them the tools they need to be prepared to cast their ballot this midterm election season,” said Molly McDonnell, Fight CRC’s Director of Advocacy. “As advocates for the colorectal cancer community, we will continue to fight for more research, better treatment options and better access to screening and care as well as work to build a group of relentless champions who represent the colorectal cancer community in the halls of Congress. We can’t do it without the help of engaged advocates, and voting is a key part of that process.” “The best part of voting is the sense of pride I feel about completing my civic duty,” said Amanda Houston, colorectal cancer survivor and advocate.
