La ABGH, un grupo lleno de entusiasmo y pasi\u00f3n, tiene como objetivo promover la equidad sanitaria en las comunidades negras, impulsar el avance cient\u00edfico y fomentar el desarrollo profesional de los gastroenter\u00f3logos, hepat\u00f3logos y cient\u00edficos negros. <\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abEn Fight Colorectal Cancer estamos encantados y nos sentimos honrados de apoyar a la ABGH y colaborar con ella para impulsar su misi\u00f3n, abordar las desigualdades en materia de salud y mostrar su liderazgo a todos los defensores y l\u00edderes a los que prestamos servicio\u00bb, dijo <\/em>Anjee Davis, MPPA, presidenta de Fight Colorectal Cancer. <em>\u00abTenemos que trabajar juntos para cambiar las estad\u00edsticas. Hace poco, Fight Colorectal Cancer cre\u00f3 un Comit\u00e9 de Equidad Sanitaria que se centra en mantener la equidad sanitaria como tema central de los debates sobre la defensa y la investigaci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer colorrectal. Varios de los cofundadores de la ABGH tambi\u00e9n forman parte del comit\u00e9.  <\/p>\n<p>Los afroamericanos tienen un mayor riesgo de padecer c\u00e1ncer colorrectal (CCR) que los blancos. Tienen aproximadamente un 20 % m\u00e1s de probabilidades de desarrollar CCR y un 40 % m\u00e1s de morir a causa de \u00e9l que la mayor\u00eda de los dem\u00e1s grupos. 1 de cada 41 hombres afroamericanos morir\u00e1 de c\u00e1ncer colorrectal, frente a 1 de cada 48 hombres blancos. 1 de cada 44 mujeres negras morir\u00e1 de c\u00e1ncer colorrectal, frente a 1 de cada 53 mujeres blancas. Los afroamericanos tienen la tasa de mortalidad m\u00e1s alta y la supervivencia m\u00e1s corta de todos los grupos raciales y \u00e9tnicos de EE. UU. en la mayor\u00eda de los tipos de c\u00e1ncer.
