M\u00e1s tiempo para crear recuerdos. Cuando a mi madre -el principal sost\u00e9n de la familia- le diagnosticaron un c\u00e1ncer de mama en estadio II, yo s\u00f3lo ten\u00eda cinco a\u00f1os. Nuestro hogar, basado tanto en las ciencias duras como en la fe, se sinti\u00f3 de repente dividido entre la esperanza y el miedo. La mujer m\u00e1s fuerte que conozco nunca nos permiti\u00f3 ver su dolor, pero de ni\u00f1a, todo lo que quer\u00eda era que estuviera aqu\u00ed para los hitos, las alegr\u00edas cotidianas y la oportunidad de crear recuerdos duraderos. Aquella experiencia lo molde\u00f3 todo para m\u00ed. Sembr\u00f3 en m\u00ed un profundo deseo de garantizar que los dem\u00e1s tuvieran m\u00e1s tiempo: tiempo para la risa, los hitos y los momentos con sus seres queridos. Me condujo a una carrera en salud p\u00fablica, donde pod\u00eda estudiar la salud de la poblaci\u00f3n e incorporar al trabajo la experiencia vivida.
