Each year, Congress makes decisions about how much to fund various government agencies and programs. With Members facing countless competing priorities, we have to advocate year after year to protect the programs important to the CRC community.
Thanks to your advocacy last year, not only did we prevent funding cuts to CRC prevention efforts, but we saw significant increases in funding for federal programs dedicated to advancing medical research.
Now is the time to build on that progress! Let’s show Congress what it means to be a relentless champion of hope and send 5,000 emails to Congress to show just how important it is to support funding for CRC research and prevention. Specifically:
- $120 million for the Department of Defense’s Peer-Reviewed Cancer Research Program and ensure that colorectal cancer remains eligible for funding
- $70 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Colorectal Cancer Control Program
- $44.68 billion for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and $6.92 billion for the National Cancer Institute (NCI)
Send a message to Congress that the time is NOW to fund lifesaving colorectal cancer research. Check back here at CallonCongress.org or register above and we’ll send you a Fight CRC Action Alert on Monday. We promise to make it quick and easy to send your message!
