Fight Colorectal Cancer’s Climb for a Cure brings together survivors, caregivers, and advocates in the mountains to push physical and mental boundaries beyond what we think we’re capable of. Getting to the top of a mountain requires the same grit and determination it takes to face your own cancer diagnosis or the diagnosis of a friend or loved one. Together we set our sights on the summit and Climb for a Cure.

The Climb will help you take bold action against colorectal cancer and advocate for vital research to find a cure, as well as empower patients and families, arming people with knowledge to help them make informed decisions about their health, while also raising awareness about the importance screening.

“This climb was a personal best for me. To be part of such a large group, to receive encouragement and camaraderie, it was wonderful. They pushed me further than I would have gone on my own. I am afraid of heights and this climb helped me!”

-Julie Krauss – Stage IV survivor

Why Climb?

Moving in the mountains is a bold action with the power to heal. Training for the 2020 Climb for a Cure reminds us that we are strong, that we are in control of our lives, and gives us faith that we can prevent colon and rectal cancers from not only changing our own lives but the lives of others.

Each step you take will lead us closer to that cure. Each dollar you raise, each drop of sweat and achy muscle will fuel cutting edge research, lifesaving awareness, and advocacy for survivors dealing with colon and rectal cancers right now.

For many, cancer is the biggest mountain they face. Climb for a Cure 2020 will make that challenge feel a little easier and less scary for so many.

Your Impact

Over the past four years, Climb for a Cure has grown from a small group of 15 individuals to nearly 130 advocates gathering together to climb a Colorado peak. The Climb has raised over $175,000 to support Fight CRC’s efforts in colorectal cancer advocacy, patient education, and research.

It’s your time now. Become an advocate and help us reach our goal of $240,000 as we take on three of Squaw Valley, California’s most inspiring peaks, and raise money for a cure.

Three Ways to Join

Climb at Squaw Valley: August 16-17, 2020

Join our team in Lake Tahoe, California and choose one of three beautiful and challenging peaks – Granite Chief, Squaw Peak, or Emigrant Peak. Together with people from across the country, you’ll challenge yourself as you climb to fight colorectal cancer.

Climb Where You Live: August 14-17, 2020

If you can’t join us in Lake Tahoe, pledge to climb a peak near you. You can still train with the team, raise money for the cure, and stand on the summit, knowing you are helping thousands of people fight colorectal cancer.

Create a Community Climb: June 1 – August 31, 2020

Do you have friends and family ready to take on colorectal cancer in your community? We’ll help you organize your own Climb with the people that mean the most to you.

Registration opens March 15th, 2020! Stay tuned for registration details.

Ganser Scholarship

As a founder Climb for a Cure and a passionate Fight CRC advocate, Chris Ganser gave so much to our community that it will be forever changed by his impact. As a husband, father, and friend, Chris had infectious energy for life and inspired everyone he met to live life to its fullest.

While we climbed Quandary Peak in July of 2018, Chris was home surrounded by family during his final days. He is sorely missed.

To realize Chris’ vision for the Climb, we started a scholarship fund to bring two survivors to the Climb, all expenses paid.

To learn more about Chris and the scholarship, sign up for Fight CRC emails and follow us on social media.
