It’s hard to give encouraging words because I’m at a point where I’m still really scared & in pain. One thing I can say is lean on your family & friends when you need to, my husband holds my hand every step of the way. For me personally listening to music really helps my mood & I always try to look forward not dwell on the past. Praying has always helped me as well.

Get into social media platforms to at least listen to others that are going through the same things that you are. Or ones that have been there done that and what they are doing to get through the residual effects after a colon cancer diagnosis.

A colonoscopy is not pleasant by any means, but it’s better than chemotherapy and radiation. Don’t wait until it’s too late. And don’t listen to people that say only older people get colon cancer: It can happen to anyone. I would especially consider it if you have a history of stomach issues.

My advice to others would be that I learned the hard way to be a better advocate for myself. If you are having multiple symptoms, demand a referral for a colonoscopy. This is the best test to give you answers to your concerns.
