Advisory Committees

Research takes collaboration. It takes thought leaders, experts, and advocates working together to move research forward. When everyone is at the table, progress happens. That’s why Fight CRC creates advisory committees dedicated to tackling the big questions.

Medical Advisory Board

Fight CRC’s Medical Advisory Board and expert workgroups play a vital role in moving our mission of supporting patients and finding a cure forward.

Immunotherapy Workgroup

Fight CRC also leads a colorectal cancer (CRC) immunotherapy (IO) workgroup full of experts and innovative thinkers from around the world. This workgroup convened in 2016 and, as a result, published a white paper on the next steps for CRC immunotherapy. The IO workgroup continues to meet twice per year to discuss priorities for CRC IO research.

Early-Age Onset Workgroup

The Early-Age Onset Colorectal Cancer (EAO CRC) Workgroup was created in response to the rise in incidence in young adult colon and rectal cancers. Experts involved include epidemiologists, biostatisticians, oncologists, and researchers from the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The goal of the workgroup is to prioritize the research agenda and understand the best approaches towards understanding EAO CRC.

Genetics and Family History Advisory Council

The Genetics and Family History Advisory Council is dedicated in the honor of Dennis Ahnen, MD, a Medical Advisory Board member and legend in the field of colorectal cancer prevention and control.

Health Equity Committee

Fight CRC is committed to ensuring all Americans have access to quality health care and can live a healthy life, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion, and socioeconomic status.
