About the Presenter

Dr. Sam Lubner

Dr. Sam LubnerSam Lubner, MD FACP is a Gastrointestinal Oncologist at UW Hospital and Clinics. He completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine (2003), and residency training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He joined the faculty after completing fellowship here in 2010. His research interests include clinical trials in all GI tract cancers, with a focus on pancreaticobiliary malignancies, and neuroendocrine tumors. He is actively involved with clinical trials in esophageal and colon cancer as well.

Dr. Lubner maintains an outreach practice at Beaver Dam Community Hospital, where he sees all solid tumors. Dr. Lubner is actively involved with medical education. He works as the Associate Fellowship Director for the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship. He coordinates educational efforts between the Cancer Center and the School of Medicine and Public Health across the preclinical and clinical years. He is the faculty co-leader of the Internal Medicine Interest Group, and serves on the State American College of Physicians Council. He has given local and national talks both on his research and his educational endeavors.
