Katie has eagerly joined Fight CRC to educate, advocate, and assist in finding a cure for colorectal cancer. Katie’s passion is driven by her Dad’s story. He was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer in 2009 that spread to his liver. He defied the odds by surviving past the 5 year mark and is doing well today. Katie watched her Dad fight so incredibly hard and wants to dedicate her time to help finding a cure.

Katie is a Principal at Brown Smith Wallace, a public accounting firm, with a specialized focus in providing services to the not-for-profit community. Katie has managed a variety of not-for-profit audit engagements, including social welfare services, health care, religious, educational, fraternal associations, and foundations.

Katie expands upon her client service responsibilities by being a significant advocate of her not-for-profit clients. She is truly passionate about supporting the missions of her clients and providing valuable insight to industry best practices. Katie has publicly presented on technical topics, such as “ASU 2016-14 Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities,” and more general topics such as “Inside the CEO: A CFO’s Value is More Than Dollars and Cents.”

A passionate community servant, Katie volunteers her time in many different areas of the community, including serving as Aim High STL Board Treasurer, Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri Board Member and Finance Committee Member, and most recently Fight CRC.
