Behind every research grant is a patient hoping for more time. For someone facing #colorectalcancer—the #2 leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. and the #1 for men under 50—progress can't wait. But right now, fewer grants are being funded. NIH's 'forward funding' policy has slashed new cancer research projects in half, slowing innovation and delaying life-saving discoveries. The Senate has stepped up, putting forward a funding bill that protects cancer research funding by stopping forward funding and increases support for the @nationalcancerinstitute. But this bill is not yet law, and without more support, breakthroughs will stall. Research saves lives. Ask Congress to protect @nihgov grants so scientists can keep fighting cancer: link in bio.
