Colon - Stage II |

Age at Diagnosis: 34

I was diagnosed at the age of 34 with stage 2C colon cancer. I went to my primary care physician due to random stomach cramps, excessive fatigue, and shortness of breath when exerting myself. My labs showed my hemoglobin level was 4.5. This was followed by a trip to the ER to figure out why my hemoglobin was so low. I received three units of blood and two units of iron. The next day I revived a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Upon waking up from the anesthesia my wife broke the news to me that I had cancer. An hour later I met my surgeon. She told me “there is a life on the other side of this and you’re going to make it through.” After surgery I met my oncology team and it was determined that I would have to do 12 rounds of FOLFOX chemo. I completed my treatment at the end of May 2025. Cancer has changed me for the better.
