Colon - Stage IV |
Age at Diagnosis: 38
I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in summer 2017, just a few months after our second daughter was born. I was 38 and had never had previous symptoms. I suddenly became ill one weekend and went to the doctor, thinking I had food poisoning or some kind of virus. A CT scan a couple days later showed a large obstruction in my large intestine, which turned out to be cancer. By the time it was discovered the cancer had also spread to both sides of my liver. I was devastated.

"Don't give up. Try to live one day at a time and focus on the positive each day! I was given a very poor prognosis, but I'm cancer free now and have been for nearly two years! Don't let this disease rob you of your joy."
