Rectal - Stage III |
Age at Diagnosis: 40
I requested a colonoscopy after about a year (which included seeing a GI Specialist) of experiencing extreme abdominal pain and inconsistent bowel habits. Three polyps were found and removed, and one 3cm mass was found, biopsied, and came back malignant. I was diagnosed with stage IIIb rectal cancer at the age of 40.
In 2020 I completed chemotherapy (which totaled 8 rounds), 28 sessions of radiation, a colon resection, and ileostomy reversal.
In January 2021 I began treatment for lung mets.
