Colon - Stage IV |

Age at Diagnosis: 45

In the summer of 2021, I noticed blood in my stool. My doctor was not very concerned, and at my insistence, she ordered a colonoscopy (I was about to turn 45). I woke up from my colonoscopy with the news that the doctor found a 4 cm tumor in my sigmoid colon. I had surgery 2 weeks later where they removed the entire tumor. Some lymph nodes were infected, which put me at Stage 3B. I had 4 rounds of chemotherapy, followed and they said I was NED.

Nine months later, my ctDNA was elevated, and following a CTScan, we found a nodule in my liver. Now at Stage 4, I had liver surgery to remove the nodule and part of my liver. We continued monitoring every 3 months. A year later, we found a nodule in my right lung. I had lung surgery and successfully removed the nodule.

I’m currently NED continue regular scans.
