Colon - Stage III |
Age at Diagnosis: 43
In late 2005, I began having extreme abdominal pain, bouts of diarrhea followed by several days of constipation. Then in February 2006, I couldn’t ignore my bodies cries for attention any longer! By this time, I had lost over 35 lbs., I couldn’t keep any food down and I noticed blood in my stool. It all came to a head one morning when I woke up vomiting bile and passing bright red blood from my bottom. My doctor immediately setup an emergency colonoscopy. Colon cancer, stage III. The cancer had burst my colon! By the grace of God and a terrific team of physicians & nurses, I quickly had a colon resection, entered a clinical trial for Avastin, and began a full year of chemo. Today, 10/03/2025, I am still cancer free!
