Types of Events

Host an event focused on educating your community about colorectal cancer prevention, screening, and treatment options. Partner with healthcare professionals to offer seminars, lunch and learns, Q&A sessions, or workshops. Consider integrating virtual options to reach a wider audience.
Organize a fundraising dinner, luncheon, or social event where guests can enjoy a meal while learning about the impact of their contributions. Include guest speakers, survivors sharing their stories, and opportunities for guests to donate directly or participate in auctions.
In 2016, we established Climb for a Cure – our largest annual peer-to-peer fundraising event that consists of a weekend climbing and hiking mountains. In the spirit of that event, we encourage you to host a Cure event. Whether it’s bowling, knitting, skating, or anything else, do it in the name of finding a cure for colorectal cancer!

Plan a sports event, such as a golf tournament, soccer match, or tennis competition, where participants can sign up to play and contribute to the cause. Engage local businesses as sponsors to provide prizes, refreshments, or match donations for each goal or point scored.

Use our fundraising platform to start an online fundraiser! You can connect your fundraising page to Facebook to engage your community online and streamline the donation process.

Partner with local or national businesses for a round-up campaign, where customers have the option to round up their purchases to support colorectal cancer awareness and research. You can also set up donation jars at checkout counters or collaborate with businesses on special promotions, where a percentage of sales goes directly to the cause. These partnerships help extend the reach of your event and foster community involvement.
Organize a community event like an art show, concert, or talent showcase where attendees pay for entry, with all proceeds supporting colorectal cancer research and advocacy. This approach allows local artists and performers to participate while drawing crowds who are eager to support.
Collect in-kind donations from local businesses and community members to create themed baskets, gift packages, or unique auction items. Host an auction event where people can bid on items, knowing their contributions go directly towards advancing research and supporting those affected by colorectal cancer.
Bring your friends and family together for a memorable event, such as a game night or movie screening. Include fun activities like interactive games, food stations, raffles, and live entertainment to create an enjoyable, festive atmosphere that everyone can participate in. Encourage your loved ones to join in, have fun, and contribute through donations, combining the joy of the event with the opportunity to support a meaningful cause and make a positive impact together.
