After months of on-and-off rectal bleeding and changes in bowel habits, Matthew had a colonoscopy in October 2024. The results revealed stage IV colon cancer.

While his treatment is going well, his diagnosis revealed a gap that's hard to ignore — the need for better, predictive data to guide treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer. That realization inspired Matthew to step into advocacy, and we're proud to welcome him as one of our newest Fight CRC research advocates.

He's passionate about patient education and making sure others have the information they need in their fight.

Your voice matters—and it's working. 👏 Thanks to #RelentlessChampions like you, the House included a $7.5M increase for the CDC's cancer prevention programs.

But the fight isn't over. Congress still needs to finalize this funding and they need to hear from YOU. 🫵

Take action today and urge Congress to finalize these increases.

"As soon as I started treatment my doctor told me I'd get rashes and changes to my nails, fingers, and toes. But you're never truly prepared." – Diego Davis Olegario, Stage III colon cancer survivor

Skin toxicity isn't just a rash—it can be painful, disruptive, and far more severe than most expect. From cracked skin to nail pain, dryness, and sun sensitivity, these side effects can change daily life in ways that catch patients off guard.

In this video, Diego shares what it's really like to live with skin toxicity.
