Researchers are looking at how diet and antibiotic use can influence the risk of early-onset colorectal cancer. Unhealthy eating habits and frequent antibiotic use can take a toll on your gut microbiome (the bacteria that live naturally in your gut). Your microbiome is resilient and can bounce back from damage, but more frequent damage makes full recovery more difficult. That's why researchers are diving in to see how long-term exposure to these risk factors might impact certain groups more than others, and how this information fits into the larger early-onset colorectal cancer puzzle.
How would you feel about not being able to get the ostomy supplies that work best for your body? That's what could happen to many ostomates if the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) moves forward with a proposed change putting cost over personal medical needs. Ostomy systems are NOT one-size-fits-all, and your voice matters. We're proud to stand with @uoaa_ to protect access to the right ostomy supplies for every ostomate. Tell CMS why this matters to you.
