ACS CAN Hawaii-Pacific is a non-profit, non-partisan cancer advocacy organization working daily to prioritize cancer issues with our state legislators and congressional delegation. The Hawaii-Pacific region covers the State of Hawaii and the Territory of Guam. As an island region, cancer patients face unique issues with access to care, especially regarding transportation for medical treatment.

Hawaii’s Colorectal Cancer Screening Coverage

In Hawaii, health insurance plans are required by law to cover colorectal cancer screenings based on the recommendations of the United States Preventive Services Task Force. This doesn’t apply to insurance covering specific diseases or other limited benefit coverage.

Hawaii is the 45th deadliest state for colorectal cancer.
