Global Research Collaborative - Fight Colorectal Cancer

Global Research Collaborative

In June 2025, Fight Colorectal Cancer convened the first-ever Global Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer Think Tank in Barcelona, bringing together researchers, clinicians, advocates, and global partners with a shared purpose: to confront the rising burden of early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) through coordinated, international action. Since then, the momentum has translated into meaningful structure and progress.

The Global Research Collaborative has taken shape through four core workgroups to advance defined priorities and produce actionable outputs.

Biobanking

Epidemiological Tools

Risk Stratification & Awareness

Scientific Research Themes

From the continued work in developing a Global Data Repository and Common Data Elements, to ongoing biobank mapping, risk-based strategies, and scientific consensus-building, the Global Collaborative is moving from dialogue to delivery.

As we reflect on where we began, the focus now shifts to what comes next: sustaining momentum, strengthening collaboration, and accelerating impact.

From Insight to Action: Current Priorities

Build shared global research infrastructure

Standardize tools to enable cross-study collaboration

Expand global representation in data and patient perspectives

Translate findings into awareness, policy, and practice

This is no longer a conceptual effort—it is an operational, global initiative.

Looking Forward

The work ahead will require continued coordination, clarity, and commitment. The foundation has been built—now the focus is on execution, alignment, and measurable progress. Together, this Collaborative is not only advancing research—it is shaping a more connected, informed, and equitable global response to EOCRC.
