My name is Megan Davies. I was the primary caregiver for my husband Owen who was diagnosed with Stage 4 CRC at age 30. Unfortunately, he passed away at age 32 in 2022. I am also a registered dietitian and have worked in the healthcare field for 13 years as an RD. My passion for advocacy centers around my interest in EAOCRC because of the life-altering experience I went through with becoming widowed at age 33, as well as my interest in the role that diet may play in this disease. I learned about RATS through my first experience in March at Call on Congress and felt that I had found my calling to turn my pain into purpose. Having worked clinically with other medical professionals, I have always been interested in research and recognized the collaborative efforts and awareness needed for it to effect real change. My love for Owen and simultaneously my great loss inspire me to find a way that I can make a difference in the advocacy space. My fur baby Felicity "Lissie" has been a major inspiration and companion during my grief, and she is quite likely to make an appearance in meetings!
