At 44, one unexpected night of back and flank pain led my doctor to order a CT scan that revealed stage IV colorectal cancer with liver metastases. Three weeks later, I began chemotherapy. Since then, my journey has included major surgeries, liver-directed treatments, and ongoing chemotherapy. As a healthcare leader, I’ve learned the importance of advocating for yourself, trusting science, and never losing hope. I believe statistics don’t define individuals, and every patient deserves a voice.
As a Fight CRC Ambassador, I hope to raise awareness, reduce stigma, encourage self-advocacy, and remind others that even in the middle of cancer, there is still so much life to live.
