Anjee Davis is the Chief Executive Officer of Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC), one of the nation's leading colorectal cancer patient advocacy organizations, advancing prevention, patient support, research, and policy. Since joining in 2011, she has grown from Director of Community Engagement to President in 2015 and CEO in 2025, guided throughout by a belief that patients and caregivers voices belong at the center of this work. Under her leadership, Fight CRC has sustained steady growth while deepening its national reach and impact.
Anjee has helped turn advocacy into meaningful policy change. She contributed to the 2021 decision to lower the recommended colorectal cancer screening age from 50 to 45, expanding early detection for millions of Americans, and helped pass the Removing Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening Act in 2020. She launched the State-by-State Catalyst Program, now supporting grassroots advocates in 12 states, and continues to press for eliminating out-of-pocket costs for follow-up colonoscopies. Through the One Million Strong campaign and the #StrongArmSelfie movement, Fight CRC has built a nationwide community of patients, survivors, and families.
Recognizing that colorectal cancer is a global challenge, Anjee has positioned Fight CRC at the forefront of the response to early-onset colorectal cancer, one of the fastest-rising trends in oncology. In 2024, the team launched the Global Early-Onset CRC Collaborative, convening leading thought leaders, researchers, and survivors across borders to accelerate progress. Under her leadership, Fight CRC published the Colorectal Cancer Care Report in 2024, establishing a shared set of goals to advance care, and Path to a Cure (2019, updated 2024), a research report prioritizing the field's most critical scientific questions. As the team, looks to the future, Fight CRC is partnering with data scientists to harness real-world data and AI to deepen our insights into risk, diagnosis, and outcomes to continue to drive the field forward.
Anjee serves on several advisory councils and boards, including the National Cancer Institute's Clinical Trials and Translational Research Advisory Committee. She chaired the NCI's Council of Research Advocates for two terms and was appointed to the President's Cancer Panel. Her leadership has been recognized with the Betty Anne Moore Community Leadership Award and the Prevent Cancer Foundation's Laurel Award for Advocacy.
Before joining Fight CRC, Anjee led the development of a statewide awareness and screening program at the University of South Carolina's Center for Colon Cancer Research and served as administrative director of an NIH-funded basic science cohort. She holds a bachelor's degree from Southwest Missouri State University and a Master of Public Policy Administration from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
A breast cancer survivor with a personal connection to colorectal cancer through her family, Anjee leads Fight CRC with the conviction that a future free from this disease is possible and that patients deserve a relentless advocate on the path there.
